TV presenter Christine Kininmonth invented the waist-expander kit BellyBelt for her own pregnancy so she could wear her on-air wardrobe as maternity wear.
Women stopped her in the street and asked her about her “maternity wear” and it kickstarted Fertile Mind as a business.
To raise start-up capital Christine put her car up for sale.
But the stockbroker who showed up to buy the car was intrigued by her business, and Christine and Peter Hooker are business partners to this day, almost two decades later.
Fertile Mind has become a maternity and baby product business built on their carefully chosen team’s mindful approach to Breastfeeding and Sustainability – Goal Seven of the Millenial Development Goals.
