There is so much potential for us in the apparel business to create and evolve our sustainability practises. At Playtex, our mission is to see an end to unethical sourcing practises and the exploitation of workers in the fashion industry. Recently, Playtex and the other brands within the Hanes Australasia Group, were recognised for our commitment to putting the planet and people first by achieving a grade A- in the 2018 Ethical Fashion Report by Baptist World Aid Australia. This is an improvement on last year’s combined score of B+ for Hanes, and A- for our legacy company, Pacific Brands. We also received a special mention for being a leading performer amongst larger fashion retailers for the research we’ve undertaken into our employee’s wage levels and cost of living in our factories.We’ve come a long way, but we know there is still a way for us to go. Which is why we won’t be satisfied until we get a grade A. In using our business as a force for good, we will continue to strive to be a leader in ethical sourcing and seek ways to improve our sustainability practises.
